Swans hit four past 'Old Boys' to take silverware at The Bowl
Braddan AFC have secured a domestic treble for the season after beating Douglas High School Old Boys (DHSOB) 4-1 last night (14 May) to lift this year's Paul Henry Gold Cup.
'The Swans' led at The Bowl in Douglas through a close-range Mark Hutton strike on 23 minutes and doubled their advantage when Liam Cain struck home in first-half stoppage time.
Braddan asserted their dominance further in the second period through an Alex Ringham own goal 11 minutes after the restart before 'Old Boys' got on the scoresheet through Jacob Stones after a Braddan defensive mixup.
But any hopes of a late DHSOB comeback were quashed with 14 minutes left as Dan Kinrade sealed the contest with Braddan's fourth, curling home from around 15 yards.
Last night's result means Braddan have earned themselves a trio of trophies this campaign having already been crowned Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 champions in late March and winning the GH Corlett Woods Cup on Easter weekend last month.
Meanwhile, despite defeat in Wednesday evening's final, Douglas High School Old Boys can look forward to the prospect of returning to the Canada Life Men's Premier League in 2025/26 having finished second in Division 2 this season and guaranteeing promotion.
