Football: Castletown hoping to close gap on Division 2 leaders

Women's Floodlit Cup semi-finals also taking place this weekend

Castletown will have the chance to claw back ground in the Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 title race with the current leaders not in action this weekend in Manx football.

With second-tier frontrunners, Colby on a rest week, their southern rivals could back to within one point of the top spot with Castletown preparing to host Malew during this Saturday's ties (31 January).

Should Castletown suffer a second league loss on the bounce, Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (Rycob.) could move to within four points of second should they take maximum points against Pulrose United.

On Sunday (1 February), the semi-finals of this year's Canada Life Women's Floodlit Cup will take place with back-to-back fixtures at The Bowl in Douglas.

First up, Onchan and Douglas Royal will face off for a place in the final before holders, Peel face fellow Manx women's football giants, Corinthians in a fixture that has been the final of this competition four at least the last four years.
