Football: Colby aiming to launch pan-disability team

It would become third of its kind on the Isle of Man

Colby AFC is looking to become the latest Island football club to launch a pan-disability team.

The southern side is looking to set up a disability squad aimed at those aged 11 to 15 and wants to 'reach out the southern community for support.'

As part of its initial preparations, the club is looking to recruit coaches to help run the team, adding all training and safeguarding will be provided and paid for.

Anyone interested in getting involved in the project is asked to get in touch with Colby AFC directly.

Should the initiative get off the ground, it would become the third pan-disability team to be set up on Island with other squads already up and running at Onchan AFC and Peel AFC.

More broadly, the Isle of Man FA Disability Football Ambassador, Pete Corkhill stated last month there are hopes in the long-term to have pan-disability teams available in the north, south, east and west of the Isle of Man.
