Football: Cup and league action this weekend

FA Cup, GH Corlett Woods Cup and league fixtures take place tomorrow

There's cup and league action in a busy weekend for the Island's football clubs.

In the ECAP FA Cup, St John's and St George's battle for the final place in the semi-finals, with the winner set to take on Corinthians next week.

Having met in the league last weekend, Peel and Laxey to head to head again as they line up in the other semi-final.

Four sides will by vying for a spot in the final of the GH Corlett Woods Cup, with St Mary's facing Gyms at the Bowl. It's an earlier than usual 1.45pm kickoff for the two sides to ensure the pitch is free for FC Isle of Man's match at 6pm. Castletown and Foxdale make up the other semi-final.

In the Canada Life Premier League, third-placed Corinthians will be hoping to close the gap to the top of the table as they face Douglas High School Old Boys.

Corinthians are 15 points adrift of league leaders Peel, but have four games in hand, plus five games in hand over second-placed Union Mills, who are just a point ahead.

Onchan take on Douglas Royal, while Rushen United host Ayre United.

In DPS Ltd Division Two, Michael United have a chance to cut St Mary's lead, as they host Colby.

Douglas Athletic host Ramsey Youth Centre, who will be looking to bounce back from a 5-1 defeat to the league leaders last time out, while Douglas & District play Braddan.

Second play third in Canada Life Combination One as Ayre United host Peel, while the pick of the fixtures in DPS Ltd Combi Two sees leaders Malew take on third-placed St Mary's.
