Foxdale sweep past Laxey in premier league
Douglas High School Old Boys (DHSOB) have reached this year's Paul Henry Gold Cup final after a thrilling 5-4 victory against Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (RYCOB) last night (6 May).
It means 'Old Boys' are now confirmed to face Braddan in the competition's final showdown which is currently scheduled for Thursday, 15 May at a time and venue to be confirmed.
Furthermore, it's the second victory for DHSOB. in the space of the week over northerners RYCOB, with the previous meeting - a 2-1 DHSOB win - securing the Douglas side's promotion to the Canada Life Men's Premier League.
Elsewhere, Braddan had already secured passage to the Gold Cup final with a 5-2 home victory over Colby last weekend (3 May).
That win for 'The Swans' means they remain on course for a possible treble of silverware this season having already been crowned Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 champions and GH Corlett Woods Cup winners.
Yesterday evening also saw league action take place with two fixtures in the top flight.
At Billy Goat Park, Foxdale managed an emphatic 8-3 win over Laxey to leapfrog their visitors in the table into eighth with two league games still to play.
Meanwhile it ended all square at the Ballacloan Stadium as Ramsey and St John's United played out a 2-2 draw.
The Isle of Man football action continues this evening with the rearranged Cowell Cup semi-final between Braddan and Rushen United.
