Football: Division 2 frontrunners to meet this weekend

Southern rivals to meet in potentially significant second-tier showdown

The current top two sides in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 meet in a big clash this weekend in one of the headline ties of the latest Isle of Man weekend football schedule.

During tomorrow's showdowns (25 October), Division 2 leaders, Colby head to southern rivals, Castletown who're just two points behind in second and have a game in hand.

Elsewhere, it remains hotly contested at the summit of the Canada Life Men's Premier League as just two points still separate the leading trio of Corinthians, Laxey and Onchan.

Leaders, Corinthians will travel to Ramsey on Saturday; Laxey face a tough home test against Peel whilst Onchan welcome strugglers, Foxdale.

Among the combination league matches, Ramsey - who took a big win over current top-of-the-table rivals, Rushen United in Canada Life Combination One last week - face third-placed Corinthians who could move to within two points of their opponents at the top if they upset the odds.

All of Saturday's matches will kick-off at 2.30pm, with the exception of St Mary's vs Union Mills in the Canada Life Men's Premier League which will start at the earlier time of 1.45pm as well as Governors Athletic vs Marown in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Combination Two which will get underway at 2pm.

There are no women's or masters fixtures penned in for Sunday (26 October) due to the school half-term breaks.
