Georgeson double secures 'Royals' comeback over Rushen
A Kayleigh Georgeson double secured a Douglas Royal victory last weekend to send the team top of the Canada Life Women's League.
'Royals' fought back from a goal down to take a 2-1 away victory at Rushen United who'd initially taken the lead courtesy of Sarah Taylor.
Georgeson then responded with two further first-half goals to put the visitors ahead with the scoreline going unchanged in the second period.
That tie was the only women's fixture to take place on Sunday (28 September) with Onchan vs Peel and Malew vs Corinthians being postponed due to unfit pitches caused by poor weather.
As a result, Douglas Royal moved to the summit of the Canada Life Women's League on six points with two wins from their opening two contests.
Corinthians and Onchan sit second and third respectively with one win on the board each with Corinthians ahead on goal difference.
Four teams - Peel, Union Mills, Rushen United and Malew - are still yet to register their first points of the new season.
Defending league champions, Peel are yet to kick a ball this campaign due to their first two matches being postponed.
