Football: Huge Division 2 southern derby awaits this weekend

Corinthians with chance to extend premier league lead

A potentially pivotal southern derby between the two Ardern & Druggan Division 2 title contenders is one of the headline ties scheduled in Manx football this weekend.

As part of Saturday's league contests, second-tier leaders Colby host second-placed Castletown with both sides separated by just one point.

Elsewhere tomorrow in the Canada Life Men's Premier League, Corinthians have the chance to extend their lead at the top to seven points when they host Ramsey at Ballafletcher.

Corinthians' nearest challengers, Peel are due to be involved in one of two rearranged Ecap FA Cup First Round ties against Pulrose United.

On Sunday, this year's Canada Life Women's FA Cup kicks-off with three first-round clashes.

Among them, Corinthians will be hoping to start the defence of their crown when they travel to Union Mills.
