Football: Prem champions to host current league leaders

New women's season to get underway this weekend 

The reigning Canada Life Men's Premier League champions will host the current league leaders as part of the latest Isle of Man football fixtures this weekend.

In what could be a mouth-watering early fixture in the season tomorrow (13 September), title holders Peel will welcome a Corinthians team which is one of three sides boasting a perfect record of three wins from three so far.

Also among Saturday's top-flight clashes, Rushen United and Laxey - also looking to maintain perfect premier league starts after three wins from three - face Douglas High School Old Boys (DHSOB.) and Ayre United respectively.

Elsewhere, in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, Castletown will be out to preserve their current 100 per cent record at the league summit when they travel to Douglas & District.

Second-placed Colby head to Douglas Royal whilst Pulrose United - who have two victories in two and a game in hand on the teams above them - return to action at Marown.

All matches across those two divisions as well as the Combination League are due to kick-off at 2.30pm with the exception of Governors Athletic vs Malew in Division 2 which will get underway slightly earlier at 2pm and St Mary's vs St John's United in Combination One which will start at 1.45pm.

Meanwhile, Sunday (14 September) will mark the opening weekend of the 2025/26 Canada Life Women's League.

Among the ties, last season's champions Peel will travel to last year's Women's FA Cup finalists, Malew.

The women's division will also see two new teams involved this campaign - Union Mills and Rushen United - who will face Douglas Royal and Onchan in their respective curtain-raisers.
