FA says decision follows 'player shortage issues'
St George's AFC has withdrawn its combination team from this season with immediate affect.
Confirming the decision, the Isle of Man Football Association (IOMFA) says this is due to the team 'experiencing player shortage issues.'
League have now been updated to reflect the developments.
IOMFA CEO Lewis Qualtrough adds: "We would like to thank St Georges AFC for their effort in trying to re-establish their combination team this season and wish the club well for the rest of the season."
The 2024/25 campaign saw the club reintroduce a combination side which did managed to get teams on the field for their opening three games on 31 August, 4 September and 7 September.
In those matches they suffered defeats to Ramsey, Laxey and Onchan respectively.
Since then, the St George's combination side has conceded its following eight fixtures as walkovers to the opposition due to being unable to field a squad.
The club based on Glencrutchery Road in Douglas now has just its first team competing in the senior divisions in the Canada Life Men's Premier League.
