
Danny McCanney has finished fourth in the open class at the first round of the British Youth Motocross Championship at Mildenhall in Suffolk.
The 17 year-old Douglas-based apprentice joiner, riding on a 250cc KTM bike, got stronger as the racing went on.
However, it wasn't such a good weekend for his younger brother Jamie in the Big Wheel 85 competition.
He crashed heavily in the second of five races and sustained a broken left elbow.
Balluagh's Callum Cooper came fifth overall in the Small Wheel 85 class but the 12 year-old was said to be disappointed with his performance.
