Manx football’s champions are back in a familiar position.

St George’s returned to the summit of the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday after a 6-0 thrashing of lowly Gymns.

Doubles from Callum Morrissey, Chris Bass and Frank Jones saw off the Tromode side.

With the match between previous leaders Laxey and St Mary’s postponed, St John’s took advantage to move up to third.

Andy Glover and John Hadderdon grabbed the goals as they won 2-1 at Corinthians, for whom Chris Cannell had opened the scoring.

A dominant first half display at Garey Mooar ensured Peel consolidated fifth spot.

Goals from Andrew Crennell, Marc Kelly and Daniel Bell won the match by half-time.

Although Steven Quine pulled one back for Union Mills after the break, Peel finished 3-1 winners.

Ramsey won the bottom of the table clash to leave Marown firmly rooted.

A Michael Fernandez hat-trick, a Lewis Qualtrough double and a Jamie Arneil goal sealed a 6-1 success at Ballacloan.

Gary Christian netted the Marown consolation.

Old Boys went on the rampage with an 11-0 victory at home to Castletown.

Callum Stewart was the main man with five.

He was joined on the scoresheet by Robbie Ward (two), Craig Stewart, Liam Buckley, David Quirk and Darren Hudgeon.
