Peel player takes close second at Southport & Ainsdale
Local golf pro Ana Dawson has put in two strong displays, including a second-place finish, whilst taking part in two Rose Ladies Series events in the UK.
The Peel-born player took part in the first two stages of the series at West Lancashire Golf Club and Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club on 11 and 13 April respectively.
In the first, at West Lancashire, Dawson managed to finish 11th out of 61 competitors with a score of three-over-par, five shots back on the winning score in windy conditions.
Dawson then upped her game in the second competition out at Southport and Ainsdale where she was involved in a thrilling contest for the top spot and forced a sudden death play-off on the 18th hole with opponent Laura Beveridge.
In a close encounter Beveridge just managed to get the upper hand and eventually take the winner's spot with a composed final putt to push Dawson into second place overall.
Dawson will be eyeing further progress in the series which has three events remaining - the next in the schedule will take place at Wentworth (East) this Thursday (20 April).
