
The Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks, and Lady Haddacks hosted a reception at Government House last night (Tuesday) for the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games team.
The biggest ever Manx squad of 33 athletes and 20 officials will be in Delhi for next month's gathering.
Six sports will be contested by the Manx contingent, namely archery, badminton, boxing, cycling, gymnastics and shooting.
In his speech, His Excellency was particularly keen for the Isle of Man to maintain its historical lead over Guernsey and Jersey.
He concluded by wishing all those travelling to India well:
