Gran Fondo 2021 this weekend

Five cycling events across two days

Five cycling events will take place on closed roads this weekend as part of Gran Fondo Isle of Man.

Today (4 September), the family-friendly Minisculo Fondo will see people taking part in a 1km course in and around Mooragh Park in Ramsey.

There will also be a brand new Individual Time Trial event with a challenging 9km climb of a section of the TT Mountain Course.

Tomorrow (5 September) will see the longer, more competitive races taking centre stage.

The gruelling 137km Gran Fondo - the longest race of the weekend - will start at 9.30am.

As well as 125km of closed Manx roads to navigate, those involved will also have to take on 1,900m of elevation.

The race is also a UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualifying event.

Meanwhile the 72km Medio Fondo, and 32km Piccolo Fondo, will also get underway on the same morning.

They'll start at 9.45am and 10am respectively.

Entries for all the events have already closed.

Details of the routes and where road closures during the races will be are available HERE.
