Gumbley leads IoM effort in marathon

Fifty-two Island runners have completed the 2010 Virgin London Marathon.

Thirty-three year-old Manx Harrier Ed Gumbley set the best time by a Manx runner since 1993 with a personal best of two hours, 35 minutes and 14 seconds to finish in a fine 99th position overall.

Debbie Loader was the first woman in 3:20:29 – the 277th female finisher.

Murray Lambden, Mark Clague, Tim Knott, Tom Melvin, Nigel Armstrong, Paul Cubbon, Gary Ashe and Richard Radcliffe were the other leading men.
