Mick Hegarty says 'finally' after 35 years
The chairman for Handball Isle of Man says the sport has 'exploded' in recent months.
It comes as high schools have begun offering after-school training alongside a new Manx Youth Games session in Peel.
Mick Hegarty has credited coaches and players for getting involved.
He says it has been a long time coming:
Club sessions take place for both juniors and seniors where Mick says 'mixed' training between boys and girls is common.
An under-15 boys group is set to travel to Germany for a tournament during the Easter Holidays.
Mr Hegarty says a girls trip is also in the pipeline.
