Two-time TT winner Shaun Harris continued his comeback at the weekend.
The Kiwi rode his Triumph 675 in the 600cc sports production race in the opening round of the New Zealand ProMoto Tri-Series at Manfeild, near Palmerston North, on Saturday.
It was the first time the 44-year-old had raced since his near-fatal crash in the 2007 TT and he wept tears of joy as he crossed the line in sixth position.
Next up for Harris is the traditional Boxing Day road racing event in Wanganui on the Cemetery Circuit, which coincidentally is dubbed the Southern Hemisphere’s Isle of Man.
He's aiming to return to the Island and tackle the Mountain Course once again next year.
