Pair beaten in last 16
Manx snooker players Darryl Hill and Sean Corkish are out of the World Team Cup in Doha, Qatar, after they lost 3-0 to Hong Kong '1' in the last 16 of the competition this morning (1 Mar).
They qualified from the group stages ranked eleventh, having beaten the seeded Wales '1' team of Andrew Pagett and Alex Taubman 3-1, and lost narrowly 3-2 to Iran after fighting back from 2-0 down to force a decider.
But in the knockout stages, the duo failed to find top gear against a very capable Hong Kong '1' side of Lee Chun Wai and Fung Kwok Wai, who were ranked 6th after topping their own group.
The Manx pair walk away with $1,500 in prize money - the winning team will win $15,000.
