Knockout Campaigns Begin

This week see a break in the league fixtures with the knockout competitions beginning. Vikings A played Vikings B in midweek in the MHA Mixed Cup with the A team ending up winning 12 goals to 1 to make it through to the semi finals and ensure they are firmly placed as favourites. Coming up this weekend sees Bacchas B take on Valkyrs A. Valkyrs have suffered from a shaky start this year however they should be too strong for Bacchas B. Bacchas A take on Ramsey A with Bacchas looking for revenge for their loss last week to the northerners. With the return of captain Jamie Brown Bacchas will certainly be able to step it up this week and Ramsey will need to ensure they are on top form to repeat their success of last week. Finally Castletown Celts take on Valkyrs B. The league match between these two sides was a close affair and it should be here again too with both sides looking to make progress in the cup.

The Manx Hockey Association Mixed Plate sees Ramsey Ravens take a bye into the Semi Finals and take a well earned break this week. Vikings c meanwhile take on Castletown Southerners in what could be a close game with the southern side edging the favourites tag. Castletown Cammags take on Bacchas Colts with Colts looking the favourite based on league positions and previous form. Finally, title favourites and Valkyrs C welcome Harlequins A to Peel with the westerners looking huge favourites to get into the Semi Finals.

In the Manx Hockey Association Mixed Bowl Bacchas C have earned a bye into the semi finals of the competition and will be eagerly waiting to see who their opponents are come the draw on Saturday Night. Castletown Cosney will be looking to spring a surprise when they take on title challengers Valkyrs D with the westerners the odds on favourites. Vikings D take on Harlequins B with Vikings taking the odd on favourite tag here as well. Finally Vikings E take on Ramsey Rookies in what is easily the game of the day in Bowl. Both sides are certain of their own ability to make it into the next round but it all comes down to one match which either side could win.
