Report by Sam Spooner:

This weekend sees no fewer than 4 matches that sees the top two sides in the respective divisions go head to head. With an exciting weekend of hockey ahead that could see large advantages taken in the race for titles no one is taking anything for granted and will be a great weekend for the spectator.

First up is the Men’s Premier League which sees both Bacchas A and Vikings tied on points with 4 wins out of 4 each. Vikings sit top of the league on account of goal difference with only one goal in it. This match could see a winner takes all situation for the rest of the season. As with past matches both teams leaving nothing to spare in their search for Glory. Bacchas A have the advantage over the past few years but Vikings are an up and coming squad with some good experience. Whatever happens this match is worth a watch! Elsewhere Vikings B take on Valkyrs A and Ramsey A will look to close the gap at the top of the table when they take on Valkyrs B.

In the Rossborough Women’s Premier League Bacchas A look to continue their good start to the season when they face a very strong Vikings A side. Vikings A sit top of the league undefeated at the moment and also have a game in hand. Bacchas A have already taken a point out of Valkyrs A, so Vikings will need to be on top form. Elsewhere 3rd placed Castletown A take on Valkyrs A and with both sides looking to take away 2nd place from Bacchas both sides will be giving everything to take both points on offer. Last but not least Ramsey A take on Valkyrs B with the northerners taking the favourites tag.

Rossborough men’s Division One also sees a huge top of the table clash with Castletown A looking to earn promotion back into the top flight and Bacchas B also looking to earn their spot this game take on a vast importance even early on in a season. Both these sides have emerged as the teams to beat with Castletown’s sheer will to win having taken wins from the jaws of defeats this season already whilst Bacchas B have dominated all teams they have faced this year so far. One thing is for sure there will be fireworks in this game with the two sides desperate to stamp their authority on the championship challenge. Elsewhere Harlequins A take on Castletown B with both sides bottom of the league on 1 point. Harlequins, however take the position of the favourites.

The final top of the table clash sees Vikings C take on Castletown C - both sides have lost one game this season but currently sit 2 points clear of the chasing pack. Whoever wins this match must be seen as favourites for the title. The other teams all sit 2 points behind showing how close this league is with both Bacchas C and Ramsey B wanting to showcase their own title credentials when the meet this weekend
