Manx side defeated by Norwich City in penultimate round
The Isle of Man under-16 girls hockey team were beaten in the Semi-Final of the England Hockey Tier 2 Plate at the weekend.
They were beaten 2-1 by Norwich City, in the rearranged fixture in Norwich, on Sunday (22 March).
The hosts scored the opener against the run of play after capitalising on a counter-attack to lead the game at half-time.
Norwich then doubled their lead early in the second 45, making the task tougher for the Islanders.
However, they were offered a glimmer of hope when Amira Crookall pulled a goal back with five minutes left on the clock.
It proved too hard a task though, despite pushing for the equaliser; Norwich City held their nerve until the full-time whistle blew as they now progress into the final of the competition.
