More than 100 participants from eight islands involved
The opening ceremony for the 2019 inter-island gymnastics competition takes place in Douglas this evening.
With no gymnastics included in the schedule for this year's Island Games in Gibraltar, the Isle of Man is hosting an equivalent competition.
More than 100 gymnasts from eight islands, including Jersey, Gotland and the Cayman Islands, will participate in the three-day event.
Organisers say this evening's ceremony will 'reflect the celebration of culture and sport with a spectacle of acrobatic dance displays alongside traditional Manx music.'
Aland, Guernsey, Shetland and Ynys Mon are also being represented, with the first day of competition starting on Thursday.
Both individual set work and team competitions are included in the schedule, which runs until Saturday.
