Men's and women's managers feeling ambitious about chances in Guernsey
The Isle of Man men's and women's national football teams will be pushing for gold at this year's Island Games in Guernsey getting underway at the weekend.
That's the view of both team managers with 20 players forming the men's side and 18 making up the women's squad with both sets of players looking to be in with a shout of the top prizes from 8-14 July.
The Isle of Man men's team won gold the last time the sport was held at the games in Gotland in 2017 with the women's team taking silver - the sport didn't feature at the games in Gibraltar in 2019.
Men's team boss, Blane Slattery, and women's team manager, Wayne Lisy, are praising the quality they think their players have in their pursuit of success in 2023:
Rugby: Douglas lose third on the bounce
Losing MGP Supporters Club would leave 'huge gap'
Golf: Ana Dawson secures top-20 finish at Q-School
