Reigning champ out in ladies golf last four

Paul Lowey and Daryl Callister will face each other in a Saturday showdown after the pair secured victory in their respective semi-finals.

Lowey - playing at his home course at Rowany at the 2018 Grant Thornton Isle of Man Golf Championships - progressed after a 7&6 victory over Stephen Skillicorn.

The home favourite has had limited time on the green this year, making his wins over Jonathan Corke in quarter-final; and now over Skillicorn in the last four, all the more impressive.

The other semi-final on Thursday night saw Lee Morgan fall to a man who has played some scintillating golf in the tournament so far.

Daryl Callister registered a 4&2 win to seal his spot in tomorrow's showpiece at Rowany.

His performance last night was testament to why many are tipping him to claim his first success at the event since 2010.

There was a massive shock in the women's side of the draw as Shirley Price overcame pre-tournament favourite Breeshey Jansen 4&3.

She'll now take on Lyndsey Tickell in the all-or-nothing final round on Saturday.

Tickell - who has caught the eye of many spectators at the Championships this year - beat Catherine Cassidy with an impressive 6&5 victory.

It means there will be a new name on the trophy by Saturday evening.
