'Pocket Rocket' hails successful bid
A Manx former professional cyclist says it's 'fantastic' the Isle of Man will once again host the British National Road Championships.
It was announced earlier this week the event would be held here for the first time in 22 years, in June this year.
Steve Joughin, the 'Pocket Rocket', won the men's road race on home soil in 1984.
He says it's great news the championships are back on the Island, given its cycling pedigree:
FC Isle of Man seeking league boost against Longridge Town
Ravens currently on three-match losing run in NWCFL Premier Division
Hockey: Mixed cup semi-finals take centre stage
Shot at silverware in a few weeks' time up for grabs
Football: Wayne Brown appointed IoM Women's Team Manager
He succeeds Wayne Lisy who stood down in August
Rugby: Douglas to renew old rivalries at Manchester
Both Vagabonds sides also on the road this weekend
