Kelly bounces back with win

Twenty-year-old Ben Kelly, the Island's junior prone shooter, travelled directly from the Commonwealth Games in Scotland to Bisley, Surrey, to compete in the Great British Junior Grand Prix International match

Although he may have been a little disappointed with his result in Scotland, he had tremendous success on the 50 metre range at Bisley, taking the win from a field of 31.

It appears the windy conditions at Carnoustie gave Kelly the impetuous for his success on the infamous Cooper Range.

Ben’s decimal score, which is now the normal method of scoring all international events, amounted to 610.4.

Kelly’s nearest rival Jacobus Booyens, was .8 in arrears on 609.6 with bronze going to Mark Goater who posted 609.5.

Kelly’s series scores were as follows:- 95.5, 103.3, 102.6, 104.6, 101.7, 102.7 = 610.4.
