Local crew Team Vortigern are hoping to break their run of bad luck when the Honda 4-Stroke Powerboats return to Manx waters this weekend.
After a good start to the season the crew, consisting of Ballaugh resident Stephen Baggs and his brother Michael, have been dogged by mechanical problems and bad weather.
However, for their home appearance they are hoping the boat, which is emblazoned with a huge Manx flag, will go the distance.
Stephen is confident the crew can put in a good performance, if the weather holds out:
