Lowey takes 36-hole opener

Paul Lowey began his defence of the Bank of Scotland 36 Hole Series with victory at Castletown yesterday (Sunday).

The 26 year-old Douglas player carded rounds of 72 and 71 to see off Jonathon Corke by two strokes, with Castletown's Andrew Challenor a further two back in third on 147.

Gross section:

1. Paul Lowey, 72 and 71, total 143.

2. Jonathon Corke, 71 and 74, total 145.

3. Andrew Challenor, 72 and 75, total 147.

4. Brian Duggan, 71 and 76, total 147.


In the net section two juniors, who are cousins, were first and second.

1. Tom Harris 143.

2. George Harris 144.

3. Jonathon Corke 145.
