Manx 1-2 at national championships
It was a Manx 1-2 as Peter Kennaugh held off the challenge of Mark Cavendish to win the British national road race title in Lincoln yesterday (Sunday).
Both riders broke clear in the closing stages with Kennaugh having the stronger legs on the final ascent to win by five seconds.
It means Kennaugh has become the first cyclist in more than a decade to successfully defend the British National Road Race Championship jersey.
And it’s now three successive titles for the Manxies after Cavendish’s victory in 2013.
