Event taking place across the world ahead of 2026 games in Glasgow
Anyone who has ever represented the Isle of Man at a Commonwealth Games is being invited to take part in the King’s Baton Relay.
The event takes place around the world before the start of the Commonwealth Games, wiuth the baton carrying a message from the Head of the Commonwealth, King Charles III.
The next games are being held in Glasgow, starting on 23 July next year.
The baton will visit the Isle of Man between 13 and 18 June 2026.
If you are available and would like to take part, you can email Victoria at kingsbatonrelay@gmail.com
The relay team will need to know which Games you competed in, which sport and whether you still have your kit.
Earlier this year Team Isle of Man invited submissions to design and decorate the Isle of Man baton which will feature in both the relay and the games itself.
You can find out more here.
For the first time ever, every Commonwealth nation and territory will receive their own Baton for their celebrations and have been asked to customise and decorate this Baton to represent their culture.
All 74 Batons will be reunited at the Opening Ceremony of Glasgow 2026, where the Scotland Baton will be presented to His Majesty and the message read aloud to declare the Games open.
Separately, Team Isle of Man is already inviting local artists, designers and craftspeople to submit designs for the Manx baton with the creative theme desired being 'Manx culture and heritage'
