Nickolas Ellis signed up for team run by former Le Mans winner
An Isle of Man racing driver has taken another big step towards his dream of appearing at the iconic Le Mans 24-hour series in the next five years.
For 2026, Nickolas Ellis is joining the Trajectus Motorsport Team and will contest the six-race Ligier European Series in the forthcoming campaign.
The 19-year-old from Port Erin took a break from motorsport last year to focus on his studies and says he's delighted to be able to return to a full season's worth of racing.
What's more, the squad he's joining is run by three-time Le Mans 24-Hour champion, Benoît Tréluyer, and Ellis says it's an honour to be mentored by someone he describes as a 'legend':
Along with focusing on his A-Levels in 2025, Ellis also continued his work as an ambassador with the Just Dream Movement and UK Youth.
Looking ahead, he's now hoping in the long-term to use his impending experience in the Ligier European Series to eventually propel him towards taking part in the European Le Mans Series and the FIA World Endurance Championship, with the latter of those two featuring the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours each year.
