Ford Escort valued at £170k
A Ford Escort which won the Manx Rally in 1979 is expected to be sold for a £170,000 at auction.
The car, which is described as like no other on the planet, goes under the hammer next month.
It was driven to victory not just in the Isle of Man but to the British championship title that year as well by Russell Brookes.
There were only three built by Ford's motorsport department in Boreham with this one the only right-hand drive.
The Mopar Manx International Trophy Rally was the fifth round in the home international rally championship series in 1979 and was held on 270 miles of closed public roads in and around the TT course.
The car is being sold through Silverstone Auctions
