Manx to be Under Spotlight in India

The Manx team departed from Ronaldsway Airport for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India this morning.

Ten competitors will represent the island in Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Shooting and Swimming.

The Opening Cermeony is on Sunday.

The Isle of Man will be under the spotlight more than usual with the event coming here next in 2011.

Department of Tourism member Quinton Gill is with the squad as the political representive of the Isle of Man, ahead of the baton being passed to the island at the Closing Ceremony:-
