Marown success; top two both win

Marown won the game of the day in CFS Division Two on Saturday.

A double from Kevin Duggan and one each from Paul Bratty and Gavin Brew secured a 4-2 victory over Pulrose, for whom Michael Dawson and Chris Cowin scored.

It’s Castletown and St John’s who remain in control of the promotion berths.

Nick Ford, Anthony Moore and Andrew Chadwick were the scorers as St John’s saw off Foxdale 3-0, while Castletown stay top after a 3-1 win at spirited Onchan.

After a goalless first half, Town took the points with goals from Max Perry – promoted from the combination side - Lee Davenport and Alex Crawley.

Mike Spencer was the Onchan marksman.

Ramsey Youth Centre continued their fine season but only after a shock.

They trailed Douglas and District at the break before recording a 4-1 win, courtesy of goals from Andrew Walton, Martin Murphy (two) and Glen McGovern.

A last-minute penalty denied bottom club Ronaldsway a first win of the season.

The Rockets played well with a Tony Rodgers double and an Aaron Maddox goal earning them a 3-3 draw.

John Quaye, Carl Breadner and Lee Christian grabbed the Police goals.

A mention for Castletown’s Dan Hattersley whose double in CFS Combination Two set a new club record – they were his 54th and 55th goals of the season!
