It's been confirmed 14 time T.T. winner John McGuinness will ride for the HM Plant Honda team at T.T. 2009.
He's the only rider signed-up for the official factory outfit, who are widely expected to field two solo competitors.
The news comes as HM Plant Honda announced they will continue in the British Superbike Championship for another season, after there had been speculation they would return to the World Superbike series.
The team is said to be "happy" with their current line-up of Cal Crutchlow and Leon Haslam at BSB, but neither is confirmed for next year.
With a wild card entry, Cal Crutchlow finished second in a rain-soaked second race at Sunday's WSB round at Donington Park.
T.T. 2009 marks the 50th anniversary of Honda Racing’s debut in the Isle of Man, and the Japanese manufacturer is expected to announce big plans to celebrate the landmark.
Next year's Parade Lap will be focused on celebrating Honda’s heritage and success over the Mountain Course.
