Bacchas A maintain winning start to season

Bacchas A came out on top in a thrilling five-goal encounter with Vikings A to maintain an unbeaten start to their title defence.

Goals from Jamie Brown, Alex Bell and Tom Wilson secured the points for Bacchas, Alex Birch and Christian Davies on the scoresheet for the visitors.

In the other games in the Men's Premier League, a Christian Steriopoulos hat trick helped Castletown A to a 4-2 win over Ramsey A.

Robin Marsson also netted for the Southerners, Chris Wells and James Aitchison scoring for Ramsey.

Meanwhile, it was a day to forget for Bacchas B who just couldn't compete with Valkyrs A.

Gareth Morris scored four - and there were braces for Chris Caldwell and Ollie Webster - as Valkyrs put 10 past the Bacchas goalkeeper.

Harlequins continued their 100 per cent start to their Division One campaign as they eased to a 2-0 win over Bacchas Colts.

A sensational goal from Nick Hamer saw him take on several opposition defenders before slotting home into the bottom left corner to open the scoring.

After a number of fine saves, the Bacchas goalkeeper was eventually beaten again when Pete Nuttall cooly finished from five yards.

Elsewhere, Vikings B also made it two wins in two with a 5-0 rout away at Ramsey B; whilst two goals each for Steve Cottier and George Powell helped Saracens to a 6-0 win against Vikings Colts.

In the Men's Hockey Division Two Bacchas C proved too much for Harlequins B as they ran out 6-2 winners.

Daniel Richardson and Dave Lewin both netted twice for Bacchas, with Matt Davin and Joe Middleton scoring for Quins.

There was another eight goal encounter in the league in the match between Castletown B and Valkyrs B.

A Louis Porter hat trick gave the away side victory despite two goals from Castletown's Robin Masson - it ended Castletwon B 3-5 Valkyrs B.
