Michael survive Malew scare

League leaders Michael made it six wins out of six in JCK Division Two on Saturday but they were given a shock by Malew.

Goals from Craig Howard and Mike Kerry meant the southerners led 2-1 at the break before the home side turned things around to run out 5-2 winners.

Doubles from Paul Corlett – who was later sent off – and Ben Drewery, plus one from Peter Fisher, maintained their 100 per cent record.

There was a familiar name on the scoresheet as Braddan stayed third but moved level on points with Colby.

Veteran striker Peter Langridge scored the winner as they came from behind to defeat Pulrose 2-1.

Lee Currer had earlier equalised Ken Cowin’s opener.

Ramsey Youth Centre were pushed hard by basement battlers Ronaldsway although were always in control as they recorded a 4-2 success.

Steven Grose (two), Mark Faragher and an own goal sealed the win.

Liam Crawley and Dave Kelly responded for the Rockets.

Phil Quayle was the hero as Ayre United thrashed Onchan 7-1.

He netted four, Chris Duggan grabbed a double and Jason Craine also found the net for the Tangerines.

Mark Reece notched the visitors’ consolation.

The result of the day came at Ballafletcher as Douglas and District stunned Douglas Royal 3-2.

The hero of the hour was Conrad Kumar whose hat-trick, one from the penalty spot, sealed a superb win.
