Douglas went down 15-6 away at the bottom club in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two as a revitalised Holmes Chapel picked up their first win of the season.
Two Mike Hebden penalties were all Douglas could manage for their efforts.
Douglas’ second team put up a much better showing as they beat Emerging Nomads 63-7 in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield.
The game didn’t have any effect on the Shield standings or qualifications for the remaining two Shimmin Wilson competitions which are due to start shortly.
Prop Steve McHugh went over for the Nomads try which was converted by Dave Edge.
