Multiple football clubs fall victim to regular vandalism

Malew AFC and Ramsey AFC targeted by vandals

A number of the Island's football clubs have been hit by vandalism.

Damage has been caused to Malew AFC's ground again.

It's the third time in the past month the club has been targeted, which has included glass bottles being smashed in the grounds and a wheel taken off from the club's goalposts.

Each incident has been caught on CCTV, the footage from which has been handed to the police, however no further action has yet been taken.

In a post on social media, the club asked visitors to respect the grounds as they want to make it a safe area for children and the community, which they don't believe is possible to do so under these circumstances.

Malew isn't the only club to fall victim to vandalism recently.

Over the last week Ramsey AFC has seen three separate incidents at Ballacloan, which they believe to be deliberate.

New seats have been ripped apart and clubhouse windows smashed.

The club is now installing CCTV but has asked anyone who may have information on any of the incidents to contact Ramsey police.
