Manx side battle well in final game of first ever world cup qualifiers
The Manx Rams have ended their first ever netball world cup qualifiers with a 61-32 defeat to an impressive Northern Ireland side.
Going into the game at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, the Rams were brimming with confidence after back-to-back wins over Gibraltar and Republic of Ireland.
However, they knew their Northern Ireland opponents today - who're 12th in the world rankings - would offer a stern test.
The Northern Irish team began the contest at a lightning pace, showing their ruthless nature in front of goal.
Whilst the Isle of Man enjoyed spells of good play, their opponents' clinical start saw the Rams trail 32-16 by the end of the first two quarters.
In the second period, the Rams continued to battle away well managing to get another sixteen points on the board.
However, the unwavering Northern Ireland held onto their commanding position well to eventually take victory.
The result means the Manx Rams end their first ever netball world cup qualifiers campaign with two wins and three defeats from their five matches across the week.
