Middle's new MHK paid tribute to his opponents last night (Thursday) as his election campaign claimed the scalp of a government minister.
Howard Quayle (pictured) won the poll with a majority of 362, beating outgoing Social Care Minister Martyn Quayle into third place behind Paul Craine.
Afterwards, Mr Quayle said it had been a hard-fought campaign and he was proud to be Middle's new representative in the House of Keys.
But he also praised his opponents for their conduct during the contest:
Rugby: Vagabonds appoint new club president
Hockey: Eighth place for Dunn and England at Junior Women's World Cup
Football: Peel thrash Corinthians in title clash
Rugby: Douglas lose for second week running
