A local sidecar rider has been invited to represent the Isle of Man at a new road racing event, ‘MotoSix, The 6 Nations’ taking place at Donington Park from March 28th to the 29th.
Jason O'Conner, who works for a bank here in the Isle of Man, has been racing sidecars with his stepdad, Neil Kelly, since 2002.
In 2004 they entered their first TT and finished 17th and 19th with bronze replicas in both races and also won the newcomers award.
They have had many top twenty finishes and last year saw them finish 12th, the best for them to date.
Jason says, "My racing career has really taken off and I am so pleased.
"I have been racing for seven years, since I was 17 and it is something I really enjoy.
"My employer has been great in supporting me, allowing me the odd Friday for travelling to the UK for the meets there."
‘MotoSix, The 6 Nations’ features teams from the Home Nations along with ones from the Isle of Man and the Irish Republic.
