Douglas trailed 7-3 at half-time, with a Mike Hebden penalty the sole reward for their efforts. A James Wood try in the second half gave Douglas an 8-7 lead but Ruskin Park added a penalty and a drop goal to take the game. Douglas did, however, get a losing bonus point.
Ramsey put in a solid debut performance away at Orrell despite losing. There were tries from Ben Harding, Craig Long, Lance Wyllie and Fintan Cummins, who also bagged three conversions.
