Steinhausen Racing duo make positive start to latest campaign
Former Island resident Harry Payne and teammate Kevin Rousseau have made a winning start to the 2024 FIM Sidecar World Championship.
The Steinhausen Racing duo won the opening race of the first round of this year's event at the Circuit Bugatti in Le Man, France on Friday (19 April).
Taking the lead from the outset, the pairing would go on to win the 11-lap sprint race by 4.9 seconds ahead of 2021 champions Markus Schlosser and Luca Schmidt.
The following day (20 April) saw Payne and Rousseau also make a flying start on the next race over 18 laps and held a lead until lap 12 before a coil stick fail saw them forced to retire from the contest.
The next round of the championship will take place at Sachsenring circuit in Germany from 3-5 May.
