Riders, Adrien Paynel and Abdil Mahdzan have been crowned winners of the Isle of Man round of the 2026 World Downhill Skateboarding Championship (WDSC).

Following practice and qualifying for the Manx phase of the series last Saturday (4 July), the respective Open Skateboard and Open Street Luge titles were decided during racing on Sunday, 5 July.

In the Open Street Luge, Mahdzan swept to victory ahead of the USA's Andy Lally in second whilst Nicholas Kamink of Canada completed the podium in third.

Meanwhile, a fiercely-contest Open Skateboard final saw Frenchman, Paynel take the honours, fending off the efforts of Australia's Harry Clarke in second and the USA's Nick Broms who crossed the line third.

During those two final showdowns, Stefano Barbizi of Italy and Kolby Parks of Canada took the fourth and final places in the finals of the Open Skateboard and Open Street Luge finals respectively.

This was the second year the WDSC has held a round of its season on Manx shores having made its inaugural appearance in 2025 on the Tholt-y-Will Road.

In 2026, however, a change saw competitors take on part of the Mountain Road section of the Snaefell Mountain Course from Joey's down to Barrule Park in Ramsey.
