Karting: Manx racer Charlie Gregg secures InterMax title

McCullagh also impresses as championship comes to a close

Isle of Man kart racer, Charlie Gregg, has secured the British SuperOne InterMax title in this year's National Karting Championship in the UK.

The ten-year-old competitor scoops the honours following second and first place finishes during the final two rounds of the series at Shenington Kart Circuit.

During the eleventh and penultimate phase of the championship he claimed second place in round 11 before sealing top spot in style the following day in the 12th and final round a day later.

As a result, Gregg finished the season on 1,253 points - 92 points clear of his nearest challenger.

He wasn't the only Manx karting competitor involved in the championship this season as 15-year-old Alex McCullagh completed his campaign in the Junior Rotax Championship during the same weekend at the same venue.

After the final two rounds in his class, McCullagh took sixth place overall in that championship after fourth and seventh-place finishes in rounds 11 and 12 respectively.
