Peel and Corinthians reach Junior Cup Final

The Ascot Hotel Junior Cup Final on May 8 will be contested by holders Peel and Corinthians.

Two second half penalties from Aaron Costain fired Peel to a 2-1 win over Old Boys to keep alive their hopes of back-to-back victories in the competition.

Dean France had put Old Boys ahead in the first half but, after defeating Rushen, Laxey and St George’s en route to the last four, it was a tough tie too many.

Peel will meet Corinthians in the final after they edged out Union Mills in a five goal thriller at Garey Mooar.

After a goalless first half, a Jody Scarffe penalty and a Simon Gawne goal had put Union Mills in the ascendancy only for Corinthians to stage a fine second half fight back, thanks to a Nigel Moody double and a late Phil Hughes goal.
