Pitt breaks collarbone in British Superbikes

Peel resident Andrew Pitt was involved in a horror crash in the British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch at the weekend.

The Australian hit the stricken bike of Alastair Seeley at Surtees, breaking his collarbone in three places.

Seeley high-sided out of Surtees during race two, with his Relentless Suzuki coming to a stop on the crest of the hill.

While those directly behind managed to dodge the bike, Pitt wasn't so lucky, clipping the front wheel and going down heavily.

He was tended to on track before being taken to the medical centre.

It's a big blow for Pitt, who was due to make his Moto2 debut at Brno this weekend with the Scot Racing Team as a replacement for MotoGP-bound Alex de Angelis.
