Points galore in Shield

Vikings, Nomads and Ramsey B all win

Western Vikings caused a surprise in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield on Saturday.

That’s after they triumphed 27-19 at Vagabonds B.

 

Kevin Mellor ran in two tries for the Peel men with Ed Alderson and Alex Gibson getting one apiece.

 

Ryan Burke kicked a penalty and two conversions.

 

Sam Lver and Bryan Kennaugh picked up tries for Vagas.

 

 

Elsewhere, there were massive scores in the other two shield games.

 

Southern Nomads ran out 93-31 winners at Poulsom Park against Castletown.

 

The two Harrys - Catlow and Brereton - both ran in hat-tricks for Nomads with Rob Keelan and Tom Duggan each grabbing a brace and skipper Mark Young kicking a hatful of conversions.

 

Eddie laou, Dan James and Leon Landels all picked up a try apiece for Town with Keelan changing sides at half-time and getting another two.

 

Marco Santos converted twice.

 

After a proper clubbing last week, Ramsey B beat Emerging Nomads 66-19 at Mooragh Park to keep top spot.

 

Craig Long and Jordan Walsh picked up four and two tries respectively.

 

There were also tries for Ethan Benjamin, Ben Harding and Andy Cleator with Chris Clague kicking eight conversions.

 

For Nomads, Owen Carvin, Ian Hargreaves and Ryan Preston all picked up tries with Bailey Daniels converting two.
